Surgery residents at MountainView Hospital, located in Las Vegas, Nevada

- Endoscopic Ultrasound Technology
- 3 daVinci Robotic Surgery Systems for training in minimally invasive surgical
All of this is facilitated by our primary teaching site for the program:
MountainView Hospital, a medical center with 340 beds that is fully equipped
for medical and surgical specialties and augmented by the support of our
teaching staff. Residents of the program will benefit from advanced technology
and the diverse patient population at MountainView, making MountainView
Hospital an ideal site for training the next generation of surgeons. Our
long-standing tradition of hands-on learning and an environment of collaborative
evidence-based patient care, sets our graduate medical education program
at MountainView Hospital apart as a leading residency option for students
and physicians in training.
Residents rotate at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center for trauma, acute
care surgery and surgical critical care, as well as for pediatric surgery.
Sunrise is a 690-bed Level II Trauma Center.
The Las Vegas Institute for Robotic Surgery
MountainView Hospital's Las Vegas Institute for Robotic Surgery is
one of HCA’s premier Advanced Robotic Surgery Programs. The Institute
sees a wide variety of advanced surgery cases.
This exposure gives residents the hands-on opportunity to develop their
skills in the field of minimally invasive procedures utilizing the robotic
surgical system, including:
- General Surgery
- Thoracic Procedures
- Urologic Procedures
- Head and Neck Procedures
- Colorectal Procedures
In addition, MountainView Hospital is the only hospital in Las Vegas that
is participating in the Fluorescence Imaging + ICG Dye (FIREFLY) clinical
trial. This technology utilizes the directed imaging technique during
minimally invasive surgeries. We are proud to be
